Tried the 6GB RAM Install? - 2009/09/07 10:26 Got an Early 2008, 2.8 GHz, 24" iMac Core 2 Duo, that is maxed out with 4GB of RAM.

Or is it? Other World Computing (OWC) is offering a 6GB kit for my iMac and some others, that according to Apple, max at 4GB. I have bought lots of stuff from OWC, including RAM over the years, and I have nothing but good things to say about the company.

I just want to be sure that all of the RAM is accessible, and that it won't fry my logic board, or something. And I am a little concerned that their kit is 2 + 4GB, rather than a matched pair.

Has anyone tried this upgrade? Any problems? Is your iMac faster?

This is the link to the OWC kit:
